At Harry & Co Jewellery, we are committed to providing high-quality jewellery that meets our customers’ expectations. This policy outlines your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and our obligations regarding consumer guarantees.
2. Consumer Guarantees
Under the ACL, our products come with automatic consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. When you purchase jewellery from us, you are entitled to the following guarantees:
- Acceptable Quality – The jewellery must be safe, durable, free from defects, and acceptable in appearance and finish.
- Fit for Purpose – The jewellery must be suitable for the intended purpose as specified by us or expected by a reasonable consumer.
- Matches Description – The jewellery must match any descriptions, images, or specifications provided at the time of purchase.
- Repairs and Spare Parts – We ensure reasonable availability of spare parts and repair services for a period that is considered reasonable for the type of jewellery purchased.
3. Remedies for Faulty or Misrepresented Items
If a product fails to meet consumer guarantees, customers are entitled to a remedy depending on the nature of the failure:
- Major Failure:
- A full refund or replacement, at the customer’s choice.
- Compensation for any loss or damage suffered due to the failure.

Minor Failure:
- A free repair within a reasonable time.
- If a repair is not possible or unreasonable, we may offer a replacement or refund.
4. Exclusions from Consumer Guarantees
Consumer guarantees do not apply in the following cases:
Change of Mind – Returns for change of mind are subject to our Refund, Returns, and Exchange Policy.
Damage Due to Misuse or Neglect – If the jewellery is damaged due to improper care, accidental damage, or use contrary to care instructions.
Normal Wear and Tear – Natural deterioration over time due to regular wear is not covered.
Alterations or Repairs by Third Parties – If the jewellery has been modified or repaired by an unauthorised jeweller, any resulting issues will not be covered.
5. Making a Consumer Guarantee Claim
If you believe your jewellery does not meet a consumer guarantee, please follow these steps:

- Assessment – We may request photos or an in-person inspection to determine the issue.
- Resolution – If a valid claim is confirmed, we will offer a remedy in accordance with ACL.
6. Additional Warranty Coverage
Some jewellery pieces may come with additional manufacturer warranties. These are separate from consumer guarantees and do not override your rights under ACL.
