What platinum offers a women's wedding ring, and how it compares to white gold
Platinum is white all the way through, so a platinum band never needs re-plating to stay white. Worn beside a platinum or white gold engagement ring, it holds its tone, and the match between the two does not drift.
Platinum does mark. A knock will leave a line in it. The metal displaces rather than sheds, though, so marks build into a soft finish called a patina rather than thinning the band. Some owners come to like it. If you prefer the original finish, it can be polished back.
Weight is the other thing people notice. Platinum is denser than gold, so the same band weighs noticeably more, and you'll notice it even in narrower bands. Even a 1.5mm or 2mm platinum band has a reassuring weight and stands up well to daily wear.
The designs here are made in platinum. Platinum 600 is a lower-purity alloy, offered only on selected men's designs.
White gold costs less to buy, and it is finished with a plating that thins over the years, so keeping it bright means re-plating periodically. Gold is available on these designs too. Purity runs from 9kt up to 18kt, with 14kt in between. Colour can be yellow or white, and rose is an option as well.
Women's platinum wedding ring styles: plain bands, diamond-set and eternity
Four families of design run through the platinum side of our women's wedding rings range. Plain bands are the starting point. The Classic is a half round band with a flat inner edge, made in platinum from 1.5mm up to 3mm. Custom widths are possible.
Diamond-set bands come as half sets, with stones across the top, and full sets, with stones the whole way round. Platinum stays strong even in fine settings, so fine claw work and pavé hold well in it. Our diamond wedding rings keep their definition at narrow widths. Eternal is one of those, a claw-set design with a sweeping scallop setting.
Curved and fitted bands are cut to follow the shoulders of one engagement ring, and made as custom wedding rings against the ring itself. The same construction is used for full eternity rings, which you'll find in our eternity rings collection.

Our custom design process follows a set sequence and takes 4 to 6 weeks. Ready-to-ship designs from the Shop take 2 to 4 weeks.
Sizing comes first. Book a sizing consultation at the studio, or we will post a complimentary ring sizer to use at home. Our guide on how to find your ring size explains the process. Engraving is available inside the band. A size exchange is possible within 30 days where the design allows, and any ring can be returned or exchanged within 30 days in original condition.
Wedding rings carry a limited lifetime warranty from the date the ring is completed. Complimentary servicing covers inspection, cleaning, polishing and stone tightening.

What a women's platinum wedding ring costs at Harry & Co

Is platinum or white gold better for a women's wedding ring?
Neither is automatically the better choice. Platinum costs more and never needs re-plating. White gold costs less and needs re-plating periodically to keep its colour.
Does a platinum wedding ring scratch?

Will a platinum wedding ring match my white gold engagement ring?
Closely, at the start. Freshly plated white gold reads as the same white as platinum. The plating wears, though, so the white gold will warm in tone unless it is re-plated. The platinum will not change.
Can a platinum wedding ring be resized?
